BICYCLE & SCOOTER ACTIVATED LIGHTS
VIVACITY bicycle and scooter activated lights are in-ground smart-LED internally illuminated pavement markers activated by a range of sensors such as induction loops and cameras. When the control box receives a signal from a connected sensor, the smart lights are activated creating a bicycle warning system that warns drivers of the presence of riders.
An Amy Gillett Foundation study analysed more than 14,000 bicycle related crashes that occurred between 2002 and 2012. More than 11% involved drivers turning right across the path of oncoming riders. Nearly 10% involved vehicles from side roads failing to give way (Amy Gillett Foundation, 2015).
Vivacity Bicycle & Scooter Activated Lights warn drivers of the presence of riders and pedestrians, decreasing the likelihood of crashes like those identified by the Amy Gillett Foundation as a major contributor to road trauma and costs to the community.

Vivacity Bicycle & Scooter Activated Lights are available as single colour or RGB lights that have their colour set from the control box. RGB lights only display white, red, green and blue.
Vivacity Bicycle & Scooter Activated Lights are noticeably brighter than common solar and battery powered internally illuminated pavement markers and stud lights.
Vivacity Bicycle and Scooter Activated Lights are low voltage smart lights, enabling them to be retrofitted to high crash risk locations. The lights are core drilled into the road, pavement or footpath surface and connected to the control box. The lights are connected in parallel, so that in the unlikely event that one light is damaged, the rest will continue to operate.

- Latrobe Street entrance to Melbourne Central Car Park, Melbourne
- Queensberry Street and Berkeley Street, North Melbourne
- Latrobe Street and Park Street, Melbourne.
Smart Control Box
Vivacity Bicycle & Scooter Activated Lights have a control box that enables input signals from induction loops, cameras, traffic lights, etc to activate the lights. When connected to traffic light controllers, any system errors can be reported to the Traffic Management Centre.
